What is a holdback on my funds?
If you have been approved for an early payout (prior to 90 days) with our deferred funding option, RallyUp will hold back 10% of the amount raised or an amount equal to the largest donation made to your fundraiser (whichever is greater) for 90 days.
This amount, referred to as a “holdback,” is used to cover any chargebacks or payment disputes that may arise after your campaign has ended. The held back funds will automatically be released in 60 days, less the amount of any chargebacks that occurred.
Good to know:
- You can always check on the status of your deferred funding payouts by clicking the withdraw funds button on your campaign management menu. On that page, you'll find the status of each fund request and the corresponding holdback (if any).
- If your organization is interested in receiving funds directly into your bank account as they are processed, consider enabling direct funding for your next fundraiser. Direct funding will allow you to collect all of the funds quickly and receive a nonprofit discount from Stripe, if applicable. Learn how to set up direct funding for a future fundraiser here.
