How much are the credit card processing fees?

Find out how Stripe’s payment processing fees are calculated and deducted from your campaign donations.

Every type of campaign can collect payments by credit card. All credit card processing is performed by Stripe, not RallyUp. Like every payment processor, Stripe charges its own fee for processing payments.

The nonprofit processing rate is 2.2% + 0.30 cents per transaction (3.5% for AMEX). You can contact Stripe at nonprofit@stripe.com to receive this discounted rate.

Please note that it can take Stripe a few days to respond if they are experiencing a high volume of requests.

If you set up direct funding for your organization and have been granted the discounted rate by Stripe, you can update your processing rate in your funding options. This will ensure that any RallyUp reports will accurately reflect the fees Stripe charges your organization.

Please note that the nonprofit processing rate is only available for direct funding. For individuals and businesses raising funds for a charity, deferred funding is the only option available. In these cases, the fee charged by Stripe will be the standard 2.9% + $0.30 per transaction.
