Indoor run-a-thon fundraiser

We saw a charity in our area raise a lot of money running a jog-a-thon last year and wanted to do the same thing. But, by the time we were able to get all the details together, it was already getting cold here in New England.

A local gym found out about what we wanted to do and offered to lend us their facility and some treadmills for the event.  So, we changed it to an "indoor run-a-thon". The gym was excited to host the event and we had over 50 people register! We even had people join who wouldn't have known about our original jog-a-thon.

Each person collected donations from their family and friends. Some gave flat donations and others pledged a certain amount per-minute of run time. The gym let us use their facility for 3 hours in the morning and a few local coffee shops brought breakfast sandwiches and other goodies for the participants.

We also gave prizes to the people who raised the most money and those who ran for the longest period. It was so fun, and we were overwhelmed with the response from the community!
